Hey Everyone,
Welcome to another Shaw Promotion weekly newsletter. We have some very special events this week including the Headwig & The Angry Inch 10th Anniversary party @ highline Ballroom, Revolution! party in the South Bronx, the official after party of the Dance of Vice @ Salvation, Popoff! and also.... The last of the Pool Party ever @ McCarren Park Pool.
A little message from Jelly NYC, the people who bought you the amazing Pool Parties..
"In case you haven't heard, McCarren Park Pool is being turned back into a swimming pool, this saddens us greatly but also makes us excited to see the space seeing even more use, we still need a space to throw concerts and we're hoping the proposed Bushwick inlet park is the right space, we even started a petition saying as such, go here to sign it."
Well.. I love the Pool Parties and will really miss it at the McCarren Park.. This is the final week at the pool so GO!! Now. before you check out all the 22 event details we have this week, check out the Village Voice photos for the Rated X party and Kill Shop Kill opening from our good friend Rebecca Smeyne of My Open Bar...
On a personal note...
For the past few years I have always enjoyed the view of the Statue of Liberty from my block in Park Slope. But now when I look down the same direction I see the big IKEA sign right in front of it. A bit of an eye sore, maybe. But it is what it is, Ikea is here to stay so I'll deal with it. The header photo on this week's newsletter was taken yesterday from the park built by Ikea and its right by the water. It was such a beautiful and calm park and you can take a free Water Taxi from Wall street directly to the park. Its a nice little addition to the Brooklyn parks and its a great place to hang. This is my $.02 of the week....
